A.R. Howe, 71, Buried Dec. 28
Funeral services for Adam Rufus Howe, 71, were held December 28 at the First Baptist Church, Rev. W.L. Kite officiating.
Mr. Howe was born in 1890 in Gatesville, Texas. He died December 27. He had been a resident of Spur since 1924. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Velma Williams, Spur and Oleta Keen, Ft. Worth; two brothers, L.B. Howe, Moody; Riley Howe, Hebronville; 3 sisters, Mrs. L.H. Hare, Sandy; Mrs. J.M. Glass, Moody; and Mrs. R.C. Hare, Salmon. Four grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.
Pallbearers were Wade Young, Delwood Stanley, Cecil Bronson, Willard Williams, Loyd Howe, Jr., Chester McAlpin, J.D. Moore and Edgar Duncan.
Interment was in the Spur Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mary Ann Howe, 90, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Norris Taylor, Stinnett, officiating, assisted by Rev. Darwin Cox, Spur.
Mrs. Howe died Jauary 28 about 7:55 p.m. in the Spur Care Center following a lengthy illness. A homemaker, she has resided in Dickens County since 1924. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Born Mary Ann York on January 22, 1895 in Moulton, she married Adam Rufus Howe on August 15, 1915 in Lott. He died on December 21, 1961.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Russell (Velma) Williams, Spur and Mrs. Oleta Keen, Ft. Worth; four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.
