Daisy Lee Middleton Holmes, 80, of Lubbock and formerly of Muskogee, Okla., passed away on Friday, July 31, 2009 at VistaCare.
Daisy Lee Holmes was born on July 12, 1929 in Williamson County, Texas to the late Morris and Daisy (Knox) Middleton. Daisy was preceded in death by her father and mother; stepmother, Ophelia Burrell Middleton; and a brother, who died at birth.
She leaves to cherish her memory, cousins, Andrew Middleton, Elroy Middleton, Claudia Colquitt Owens, Octavia Middleton Givens, Joe Middleton, Grace Middleton Pierce and Francis Delonney; her faithful friend, Juanita Trimble; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family of Daisy Lee Holmes extends great appreciation to the staff at University Medical Center, Girling Healthcare, Dialysis Center of Lubbock and VistaCare, for the care given to Daisy in her last years with us in Lubbock.
Services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at St. Luke Baptist Church with Rev. J.H. Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Spur Memorial Cemetery in Spur under the direction of Griffin Mortuary. Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Griffin Mortuary.
