Obituary

Services for Charlie Thomas Holman, 85, were held Tuesday, February 7, 1989 at 2 p.m. in the Highway 70 Church of Christ. Church minister Ernie Bishop officiated.

Mr. Holman died at St. Mary of the Plains Hospital in Lubbock on Sunday. Born in Seymour on August 21, 1903, he had lived in Spur most of his life. He was a retired truck driver and water well driller.

He married Mary Lee Johnson on June 28, 1947 in Aspermont. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lee Holman, Spur; a son, Horace Johnson, Sweetwater; three daughters, Johnie Carlisle, Spur; Judy Roberts, Lubbock and Sandra Cyr, Mansfield; one brother, George Holman, Levelland; 14 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.

Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
