Services Are Held for Mrs. J.P. Holder

Services for Mrs. LaVerne Holder were conducted Wednesday morning, July 22, at the First Baptist Church. Rev. Fred J. Smith officiated, assisted by Rev. Joe Motsenbocker.

Mrs. Holder was born August 4, 1923 and she died July 20, 1953. She was converted early in life and joined the Baptist Church. She was married to J.P. Holder at Spur in 1941. They made their first home in Spur.

Pallbearers were Bill Hahn, Wilson Hagins, J.B. Karr, R.G. Bostic, Richard Westfall and Lester Ball.

Honorary pallbearers were Bob Hahn, Gene Roberts, Willie Hindman, Vergil Wilson, Foster Cook and Sam Williams.

She is survived by her husband, J.P. of Idalou; three children, Perry Don, Arnold Wayne and Charles Edward; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.P. Smith of Spur; three brother, Nolan and Eldon Ray, Spur and Bellie of Idalou; one sister, Mrs. James Criswell of Abilene.

Interment was in the Spur Cemetery under the direction of Campbell's Funeral Chapel.
