Justin Hinson photo flag Services for Harvey Justin Hinson, 22, of Fort Bliss, were at 2 p.m. May 15, 1993 in the First United Methodist Church with church pastor Rev. Kenney Kirk officiating.

Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

He was born September 8, 1970 in Post and was baptized in the First United Methodist Church, Spur.

He attended the First Baptist Church in Crosbyton as soon as he was old enough and until his father entered the U.S. Army in 1976.

He moved to San Antonio in April 1985 and attended four years at Kennedy High School there. He graduated in 1988 and played in the marching band. He attended Texas Tech for one semester and entered the Army in August of 1989.

He took his basic training at Fort Leonardwood, MO and technical school at Fort Benjamin Harrison in IN. From technical school he went to Germany and served in Schweinfurt from January 1991 until January 1993.

He came home to Crosbyton in Janury of 1993 for a 30 day leave and in February went to Fort Bliss in El Paso.

A Specialist E4, he came home for Mother´s Day and returned to his apartment in El Paso. It was determined there was a gas leak and he was asphyxiated.

His hobbies included hunting, fishing, hiking and other outdoor activities.

Survivors include his parents, Sherry and Wright Hinson, Crosbyton, his grandparents, Shirley and Harvey Weygant, St. Cloud, Florida; his grandmother, Thelma Hinson, Crosbyton and his great grandmother, Lena Hinson, Lubbock; two brothers, David Hinson, Arlington and Cory Hinson, Crosbyton; a sister, Rhonda Fox, Boerne.
