Funeral services for Orange Henderson, 81, a retired farm laborer, were held February 19, at 1 p.m. in the Lakeside Baptist Church, Rev. U. H. Hill officiating.Mr. Henderson died February 16 in Houston. He had been a resident of Dickens County since 1925 and was a member of the Church of God.
Survivors include 3 sons; Horace and Richard Henderson both of Midland; James, Enterprize, Ala; 5 daughters, Francis Johnson, Ft. Worth; Dalphene Montogomery, Dimmitt; Ruth Sledge, Houston; Lillie Mae Henderson, Odessa; Luisa Brown, Denver, CO; two brothers, 35 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Marvin Dixon, Johnny Lee, William Lee, Sonny Miller, Robert Blanton and Jessie Miller.
Burial was in the Spur Cemetery.

from the records of Lillian Grace NayNote: Mr. and Mrs. Henderson and children moved here from Marlin, Texas in the mid 1930's and resided in Spur since that time, being employed on farms in the various parts of the county. Mrs. Orange Hendersons died May 6, 1941 in Spur. Her body was carried to Marlin and was interred in the family plot at that place. Surviving her at that time were: the husband, Orange Henderson; four sons, Ritchet Orange, Jr., Sonny and Baby; four daughters, Delphine, Alma Ruth, Hattie Lou, "Mutt"; and a step-daughter of Wichita Falls.
