Obituary

Funeral services will be held this afternoon (Thursday) for Leonidas M. Henderson, 76, who died at his home here Tuesday from a paralytic stroke. The services were held at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Herman Coe, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Burnham.

Pallbearers will be K.D. Ince; A.R. Howe, J.L. Garner, Reynolds, Meadors, Fred Hilsey, Slim Foster and A.M. Hoover.

Interment will be in Spur cemetery with Chandler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Henderson is survived by his widow, two daughters, Mrs. W.H. Landes of Portales, NM; and Mrs. Pink Smith of CA; six sons: J.P., J.T., Bailey, Victor, and Urah Terry; one brother, L.S. of Hamilton; 21 grandchildren and two greats.

Mr. Henderson was converted at an early age and joined the Baptist church. He was married to Miss Florence U. Landess, April 15, 1902 making their first home in Hamilton.

Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Virginia Henderson, 78, former resident of Spur, who died Thursday, April 21, in Ervin, California, were conducted at the First Baptist Church, Wednesday, April 27, at 3 p.m. with Rev. C. Melvin Ratheal officiating.

Interment followed in Spur Cemetery under the direction of Campbell's Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Henderson resided in Spur for fifteen years, prior to moving to California in 1944.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Urah Terry, Long Beach, California; two sons, Victor and Van Henderson of Ervin, California; three sisters, Mr. E.N. Evans, Lubbock, Mrs. J.E. Greenfield, Dumas, and Mr. E.E. Brock of Hermleigh; and three brothers, John Landess of Lubbock, S.B. Landess of Portales and Joe Landess of Brownfield.
