Obituary

Funeral services for E.L. Henderson, shoe repair operator here, were held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. David Dyer officiating. He was assisted by Rev. J.T. Bilberry and Rev. J.E. Lee, both of Plainview.

Mr. Henderson died at his home in Spur June 16. He was 58 years old. He came to Spur from Ralls in 1955. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Clarsie Henderson, Spur; two daughters, Mrs. Glenda Moore and Mrs. Peggy Bradord, both of Spur; two sons, Alton Henderson, Lubbock and Tommy Henderson, Spur, one brother, Luther Henerson, Lubbock; two sisters, Mrs. Stelia Hill, and Mrs. Cordell Smith, both of Spur and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Lee Kidd, Cleo Murray, Wayne Hudson, Pete Day, Flavious Alexander and Cleo Lindsey.

Burial was in the Spur Cemetery.

Services for Clairsie Henderson, 96, of Spur, were held Thursday, March 11, 2004 at Bethel Baptist Church in Spur, with Rev. Tommy Henderson officiating. Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home. She died Tuesday, March 9, 2004 in Spur.

Mrs. Henderson was born Sept. 13, 1907 in Commerce, TX to George and Lizzie Woodard O'Guinn. She attended school in the Dry Lake Community.

She married E.L. Henderson on Feb. 21, 1935 in Jayton. He preceded her in death in 1974. She was a private duty nurse and a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Spur.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Moore and Peggy Bradford both of Spur; two sons, Tommy Henderson of Spur and Alton Henderson of Lubbock; one brother, Vernon O'Guinn of Lubbock; 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
