Funeral services for Stephen Wesley Harvey, 72, were held at Campbell's Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, February 11. Conducting the funeral was Rev. E.J. Norman, Primitive Baptist minister of Childress.

Harvey was born in Rockwall County, Texas on March 3, 1884. He died in Spur on Feb. 9, 1957. He came to Dickens County in 1901 and lived in the Elton community. He had been a resident of Dickens County for 32 years.

Pallbearers were Seamon Reynolds, Lawis Lee, Johnnie Blakley, G.W. Grimes, Hollet Holley and John Albin. Honorary pallbearers were Joe Wolfe, John Hazelwood, Tom Cooper, John Gragson, Frank Hale and Walter Barclay.

He is survived by three brothers, B.R. Harvey of Lapryor, Texas, Ed Harvey of Fort Worth, and O.S. Harvey of McAdoo; three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Handley of Arlington, Texas; Mrs. Agnes Ball of Lubbock; and Mrs. Lillie Varnell of Fort Worth.

Interment was in the Spur Cemetery under the direction of Campbell's Funeral Home.
