Obituary

Services for Lau Wanna Harris, 70, of Spur, were at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 1994 in the Highway 70 Church of Christ with Ernie Bishop, church minister, officiating.

Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Harris died at 7:55 p.m. April 28 in Methodist Hospital, Lubbock following a brief illness. She was born in Dickens County and lived here most of her life. She married Vernon Harris on August 31, 1940 in Spur.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Chruch of Christ. She taught Sunday Shcool for several years. Three brothers and one sister preceded her in death.

Survivors includes her husband, Vernon Harris, Spur; a son, Gary Harris, Spur; two daughters, Sandra Littlefield, Ralls and Janette Lovell, Lubbock; one sister, Inez McLaughlin, Lubbock; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Mike Thomas, Buddy Grammer, Tony Winkler, Gwyn Long, Billy Dan Bingham and Dempsey Sims, Honorary pallbearers were Don Condron, Bob Baird, Harry Martin, Charlie Arrington, Loyd Rinehart, Tom Condron, Flip Fitzgerald and Billy Bud Sims.

Memorials may be made to the Lubbock Children´s Home and Spur Memorial Cemetery.

Vernon Harris, 87, of Spur died Monday, January 30, 2006 in Lubbock. Services will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 2, 2006 at Hwy. 70 Church of Christ in Spur with Bob Martin officiating. Burial will be in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Mr. Harris was born January 21, 1919 in Stamford, Texas to W.A. and Myrtle Luttrell Harris. He moved to Dickens County with his family at the age of two. He was a graduate of Spur High School and farmed in Dickens County until his retirement.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and three brothers.

He is survived by one son, Gary Harris of Spur; two daughters, Sandra Littlefield of Ralls and Janette Lovell of Lubbock; two brothers, Bud Harris of Roswell, NM and Aubrey Johnson of Sequin; six randchildren, Cindy Weakley, Tani Mortin, Robert, Dennis, Shannon Harris. Shayne Harris and Makenzie Harris, and nine Great-Grandchildren.
