Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. W.A. Harris were held at the Spur Church of Christ Thursday, January 30th at 4:00 p.m. J.H. Miles, minister officiating. Death occurred Wednesday night at 11:00 o´clock after a very brief illness. Interment was made in the Spur Cemetery.

Pallbearers were W.F. Foreman, Willie Williams, Elzie Armstrong, John Sharp, T.B. Watson and S.I. Benefield.

Flower bearers were: Mrs. Ava Williams, Mrs. Neal A. Chastain, Mrs. Crit McDonald, Mrs. Burford Johnson, Mrs. Bill Walton, Mrs. Hubert Karr, Mrs. Adair Karr, Misses Dorothy Young, Vera Sheppard, and Wilma Morgan.

Miss Myrtle Luttrell was born January 29, 1886. In childhood she united with the Church of Christ and was active in church work throughout the years, living a christian life. She was married to W.A. Harris at Leonard, Fannin County, TX in February 1903.

In 1920 the family moved to Dickens County, settling near the present home in the Espuela community, where Mrs. Harris has been active in church, social and civic activities.

Survivors are: the husband, W.A. Harris; four daughters, Mrs. Pauline Armstrong of Lubbock; Mrs. Odell Glasgow, Spur; Mrs. Robert McCormick, Robstown; and Mrs. Lucille Stacy, Espuela; five sons, Woodrow Harris, Duncan, OK; Raymond Harris, Lovington, NM; Vernon Harris, Espuela; Billy Wayne Harris, Ft. Sam Houston; and Charley Paul Harris, Espuela. One sister, Mrs. Culwell of Wayside, TX and one brother, Paschal Luttrell, Corpus Christi; and three grandchildren.

Other relatives and friends here to pay last respects were T.A. Harris and daughter, and Elliott Harris and family, of O´Donnell; Mr. and Mrs. W.M. Carlton, and Mrs. Earl Carlton of Stamford.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 3 p.m. in the Spur Church of Christ for William Albert Harris, 91, a retired farmer.

He died Monday at the Crosbyton Hospital.

He was a member of the Church of Christ and had been a resident of Dickens County since 1921. Gary Williams and Cleston Pritchett officiated at the service.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Pauline Armstrong, Lubbock; Mrs. Odell Glasgow, Lubbock; Mrs. Opal McCormick, Robstown; Mrs. Lucille Campbell, Jr. of Highland, Michigan; six sons, Woodrow, Seminole, Okla; Vernon and Charlie Paul, both of Spur; Wayne and Raymond, both of Roswell, NM; Aubrey J. Johnson of Seguin; three sisters, Mrs. Cora Jackson, Tipton, Okla; Mrs. Mattie Cox, Noble, Okla; Mrs. Clats Kaemper, West Bend, Wisc.; two brothers, Walte of Bolwas, Tenn. and Elliott of Brownfield.

Pallbearers included R.B. Walsworth, Leon Greer, T.B. Watson, Harold Karr, Horace Hyatt, Willie Williams.

Burial was in Spur Cemetery.
