Keith "Skeeter" Hancock, 64, of Spur died Saturday, August 2, 2008 in Abilene. Services were 10:00 a.m., Wesnesday, August 6, 2008 at Spur.

Memorial Cemetery Chapel under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Skeeter was born August 2, 1944 in Crosby County to Ray and Pauline Ogle Hancock. He married Elaine Maben on August 7, 1964 in Spur. He was a jack of all trades, having worked as a lineman, a truck driver and oilfield worker over the years. He was a driller in the oilfield for several years. He was employed by Chapman Construction at the time of his death. He also loved doing metal art, and did the work at the entrance of Dickens Springs.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine of Spur; three sons, #1 son, Olen Keith Hancock, II and wife Cheryl of Grand Prairie, TX. #2 son, Brendle Hancock and wife Debra of Broken Arrow, OK, #3 son, Tobin Hancock and wife Lauri of Ridgecrest, CA; favorite daughter, Kelly Atkinson and husband Kenny of Stamford, TX; four grandchildren, Dustin Raber, Lauren Raber, Meagan Hancock and Lexie Hancock; two brothers, Terry Hancock of Alvarado, TX and Gary Hancock of Lorenzo, TX; and one sister, Shirley Maxe of Lubbock, TX.

Skeeter was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
