Services for Emmett E. Hairgrove, 71, of Corpus Christi, were conducted Friday, Jan. 24 at the First Methodist Church in Spur. Burial was in Spur Cemetery.Mr. Hairgrove, a retired farmer, who with his family formerly lived in Spur and Levelland, died Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in residence in Corpus Christi.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl, of Corpus Christi; a daughter, Mrs. Floyd Hunt of Levelland; a son, Bill Hairgrove of Corpus Christi; a step-daughter, Mrs. Tom Hayes of Hobbs, NM; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Graveside services for Minnie Pearl Murphy Hairgrove, 87, Granbury, were held on June 29, 1994 in Spur Memorial Cemetery, at 11 a.m. under the direction of Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury.Mrs. Hairgrove was born on October 9, 1906 in Hubbard, Texas and died on June 27, 1994 in Hood General Hospital, Granbury. Her parents were Joseph Albert Murphy and Maggie Mae Hendrix Murphy. She married Emmett Hairgrove, April 11, 1939 in Spur.
She was a housewife and a member of St. Luke´s Methodist Church, Odessa. She had lived the past eight years in Granbury. She was a former resident of Spur, Levelland, Odessa and Corpus Christi, Hobbs, NM and Parker, AZ.
Survivors include a step-son, Bill Hairgrove, Corpus Christi; a step-daughter, Leta Hunt, Levelland; two brothers, Pike Murphy, Granbury and Lawrence Murphy, Bakersfield, CA; two sisters, Allene Dillahunty, and Annie Forgason, both of Lubbock; and several grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Helen Fay Hayes.
