Mrs. E. Hairgrove Is Dead Following Two Year Illness
Mrs. Emmett E. Hairgrove passed away at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G.W. King a few miles east of the city Thursday afternoon about 3 o´clock. She had been in ill health since June 3; when she suffered a severe case of influenza and from which she never recovered. Recently Mrs. Hairgrove was taken to Sanitorium, Texas for treatment but was later brought to the Nichols Sanitarium where she underwent two operations for the lung trouble, and nothing more could be done and she was taken to her parents´ home where she remained until she was relieved of her suffering.Mrs. Hairgrove was born in Madison County, TX October 15, 1902 and moved to this county with her parents in 1906 and has lived here since. In 1918 she was married to Emmett E. Hairgrove by the pastor of the Methodist Church of which she was a member. To this union three children were born: Alleta, who is 13, Billie, and JoAnn who died in infancy.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church at 10 o´clock Friday with Rev. Cecil Ellis and Rev. S.A. Sifford conducting the services. Interment was made in Spur cemetery under direction of Webber Williams.
