Obituary

James Monroe Hahn, long time resident of Spur and Dickens county, died Sunday at 11:15 p.m., March 23.

Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church Tuesday at 2 p.m., March 25, with Rev. T.B. Allen officiating, assisted by Rev. A.P. Stokes.

Hahn was born in Gainesville, TX, February 22, 1879. In September of 1900 he was married to Addie Craft at Brazos Valley in Stonewall county.

He, with his family moved to Spur in December of 1920, where he farmed until the time of his death.

Hahn was converted to the Christian religion at an early age.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Ellis Draper and Mrs. C.A. Alldredge of Spur; four sons, Jimmie and Billy of Spur, Vernon of Los Angeles, CA and Joe of Ontario, CA; two sisters, Mrs. Pat Mitchell and Mrs. Frank Hays of Aspermont; four brothers, Bob of Spur, Henry of Aspermont, Ed and Ray of Swenson; twelve grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Nephews serving as pallbearers were Jerry Mitchell, Ray, Ora, Jerry, Robert and Glenn Hahn.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. M. H. Brannen, Albert Powers, George Sloan, M.E. Tree, Forest Martin, Jeff Smith, Bollie Williams, Frank Watson, Ed McArthur and Weldon Grimes.

Interment was in Spur Cemetery with Chandler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Addie Craft Hahn will be conducted today, January 21, in the First Baptist Church. Rev. Tommie Allen will officiate, assisted by Rev. R. D. Hill.

Mrs. Hahn was born September 25, 1879 and she died January 18, 1954, at her home. She was married to James M. Hahn at Stonewall County, Texas on September 30, 1900 and they came to Dickens County in 1920. Mr. Hahn preceded his wife in death on March 23, 1952. Mrs. Hahn was converted early in life and was a member of the Baptist Church.

She leaves to survive her two daughters, Alma Draper and Iva Allredge, both of Spur; four sons, Vernon of Los Angeles, Joe of Ontario, CA and Bill and Jimmie of Spur; two sisters, Mrs. Hugh Hill and Zadie Craft of Floydada; three brothers, Jim, Joe and Jess Craft, all of Swenson; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be nephews and interment will be in the Spur Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
