U.S.Flag     Paul A. "Pete" Hagins, 86, of Spur died Tuesday, February 6, 2007 in Lubbock. Services were held 2 PM, Thursday, February 8, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Spur with Eric Swenson and Rev. Larry Burton officiating. Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

"Pete" was born August 31, 1920 in Dickens County to Joseph Hugh and Laredo Tyler Hagins. He was a 1938 graduate of Girard High School. He was farmer and served in the US Army during WWII, in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater. Pete was a lifetime member of the Spur VFW where he served as Post Commander. He was also a member of the American Legion. He had been a lifetime resident of Dickens County.

He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sister, Pauline Yeakley and sister Liddy Mae Hagins; and one brother, J.R. Hagins.

Pete is survived by one brother, M.A. Hagins and wife Mildred; four sisters, Rosa Lee Taylor, Joycie Parker, Dollie Blair and husband Dwayne, and Joan McWhorter and husband Johnny; as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials to American Lung Assn., P.O. Box 26460, Austin, TX 78755-0460 or Spur Memorial Cemetery, P.O. Box 111, Spur, TX 79370.
