Obituary

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10:30 for Carl Emmett Hagins, 76, a resident of Dickens County since 1888. Mr. Hagins died January 29.

Rev. Cal Wright, former pastor of the First Methodist Church here, who now resides in Colorado City, officiated at the services.

Born October 7, 1884 in Herd County, GA, Mr. Hagins came to Texas with his parents as a child. On December 14, 1914, he married the former Lula Harrison in Jayton. He was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, one son, Paul Dale Hagins, Spur; one daughter, Mrs. Carl [Arloiene] McGalliard, Spur; four brothers, Earl, Abilene; Joe F., Midland; Sam, Spur; A.J., Farmington, NM; four sisters, Mrs. W. W. Heathington, DeLeon; Miss Nettie Beth Hagins, Amarillo, Mrs. Lillian Deahl, Amarillo, and Mrs. Essie Hendrick, Ft. Worth, five grandchildren also survive.

Pallbearers included Paul A. Hagins, Marvin Hagins, Billy John Harrison, Elmer Hagins, Wilson Hagins, Joe Hagins, Paul Heathington, Emmett Hagins, Gordon and Loyal Harrison. Interment was in Spur Cemtery, Campbell´s in charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lula L. Hagins, 92, were held Sunday at 4 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Norris Taylor, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiated, assisted by Rev. John Nay.

Mrs. Hagins died Aug. 18 in St. Mary´s Hospital, Lubbock. Born in 1886, in Comanche County, she came to Dickens County in 1916. She had been a resident of the Kent county Nursing Home for the past several months. Her husband preceded her in death.

She is survived by a son, Paul Dale Hagins of Spur and one daughter, Arloiene McGalliard, Houston; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Pallbearers included Neal Spencer, Loy Harrison, Billy John Harrison, Gordon Harrison, Vernon Harrison, Pete Hagins, Marvin Hagins, and Coy Hogard.

Burial was in the Spur Cemetery.

HJonorary pallbearers were Euel, Odell, Pete and Loyal Harrison.
