Beggs Ranch Foreman is Dragged to Death

U.S.Flag   Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Spur, for C.E. (Pete) Hagar, 34. Rev. Norris Taylor, pastor officiating, assisted by Rev. Lee Hollis, Sweetwater.

Mr. Hagar was killed February 23, when he was dragged by a horse. He was foreman of the Beggs Ranch. The accident occurred in a pasture on the ranch.

He had been a resident of Kent Co. all his life and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Hagar, Post; three children; one daughter, Deana Hagar; and two sons, Darrell and Ricky, all of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Hagar, Girard, and one brother, O.V. Hagar, Farmersville, TX; five sisters, Joyce Cherry, Darlene Randolph and Jean Whalen, all of Lubbock, Betty Roberts and Bonnie Hale, Phoenix, AZ.

Pallbearers included Bill Ward, Glenn Smith, Dr. Grady Wallace, Henry Key, Charles Nall, J.B. Beldress, Bill Stone and Gerald Stanley.

Interment was in the Spur cemetery.
