Obituary

Funeral services were held Monday at the Church of Christ in Spur for Henry Edward Grabner, 80, who died Friday at the home of a daughter, after an illness of several months.

Luther Robert of Abilene, conducted the services and was assisted by M.C. Cuthbertson of Amarillo. Interment was in the Spur Cemetery with Chandler Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Grabner, who moved to Dickens County in January 1912, was born in Anderson County on October 30, 1867 and was married to Alice Absher, January 9, 1892 at Rockdale, Texas, making their first home in the Sand Grove Community. He was converted at the age of 26 and was affiliated with the Church of Christ.

Survivors are five daughters: Mrs. W.D. Scoggins of Amarillo; Mrs. S.H. Blair of Spur; Mrs. A.M. Jones of Amarillo; Mrs. A.E. Ewell of Amarillo and Mrs. A.G. Donly, of Denver. One brother, A.J. Grabner of Rockdale, Texas. 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren also survive. His wife preceded him in death in 1936.
