J. F. Goodwin died Monday at his home in Spur and the remains were interred in the Spur Cemetery Monday afternoon at five o´clock, the funeral services being conducted at the home.
Mr. Goodwin had been sick only a short time, and his death was a shock to his friends and acquaintances. He leaves a wife and two little children.
J. F. Goodwin was among those who came to Spur at the beginning of the town, six years ago. All who knew him recognized him as a good man. He was a man who attended to his own business, interfered with the right of no other man and provided for his household and "earned his bread by the sweat of his brow" He did what he thought was right in every instance. Truly a good man has gone to his reward, and he has earned a bright place in that Great Beyond. The Texas Spur Extends sincere sympathy to the wife and children in this great bereavement.
