Rites Held Tuesday for Richard A. Gibson

Funeral services were held at the first Baptist Church in Spur, Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m. for Mr. Richard A. Gibson, who died Sunday, September 7.

Mr. Gibson, who was born December 18, 1908 in Sagerton, Texas to Mr. And Mrs. R.T. Gibson, married Miss John Belle Hargrove January 5, 1929 at Dickens, Texas. Mr. Gibson resided in Spur since the year 1910.

Mr. Gibson was converted early in life and was a member of the Baptist Church. Rev. A.P. Stokes was the officiating clergyman, assisted by Rev. C.N. Gilbert, and interment was made in the Spur Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Chapel in charge.

Pallbearers were: John Hazelwood, Jr., Hollis Davis, Mancel Hinson, Homer Henson, L.B. Davis, Aubrey Davis, Joe Mitchell and Clarence Davis.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. John Belle Gibson, and children Robbie, Dick and Estel Ralph Gibson, all of Spur and one sister, Mrs. Estell Stanford of Lubbock.
