Isaac Gibson Dies at 96

Funeral services for Isacca Lee Gibson were held Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in the Bethel Baptist Church. Rev. Chester (Basernan?) officiating; assisted by Rev. W.V. Bentley, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church.

Born in Sebree, Kentucky in 1866, Mr. Gibson first came to Kent County in 1915. He had been a farmer. He was 96 years old at the time of his death. He had lived in Spur the past two years. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Nina Vick, Spur, Mrs. Gertie Gatliff, San Saba and Mrs. Ora Lee Blackwood, Dickens; six sons: Richard Gibson and Jot Gibson, both of Spur; Lonnie Gibson, Odessa; Virgie Gibson, Mesquite; Earnest Gibson, Denver City; and George, Perryton. 40 grandchildren and 47 great grand children.

Pallbearers included Jack Montgomery, Jackson East, Floyd East, Floyd Willie, Delmer Browning, George Nalley and Roy Caplinger.

Interment was in Spur Cemetery. Campbell's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
