Obituary

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Robert Gibson, Thursday, April 20 at 10:30 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Spur. Bro. H.L. Burnam and C. Melvin Ratheal officiated. Mrs. Gibson was born Dec. 24, 1891 in Bee County, Texas. She married Robert T. Gibson in Sagerton Dec. 12, 1908. They moved to Dickens County in 1910 and had lived here until her death.

Pallbearers were Maccil Hinson, Hollie David Davis, Jack Davis, John Hazlewood, Jr, Allen Davis and Bert Davis Lewis.

She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Estella Stamford of Hobbs, 2 grand children, five brothers, Will Davis, Clyde Davis, Jack Davis, Kelly Davis, Jesse Davis and one sister, Pearl Hinson of Brownfield.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge. Interment was in Spur Cemetery.

Robert Terrell Gibson, born at Athens, Texas, Oct. 15, 1889, died Oct. 3, 1957 at Lubbock.

Gibson was married to Pennie Sprayberry and had lived in Dickens County for the past 47 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Services were held Friday, October 4, at the First Baptist Church in Spur with Rev. Riley Fugitt officiating. Interment was in Spur Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: Floyd Barnett, O.D. Thompson, Allen Davis, Bert Davis, Hollis Davis and Earl Davis.

Survivors include his wife, Pennie Gibson, a daughter, Mrs. Estelle Stanford of Hobbs, NM, a sister, Mrs. Harris of Spur and 5 grandchildren.

Campbell's Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
