SPUR (Special) — Rosary for Luis Garcia, 79, of Spur will be recited at 7 p.m. today in St. Mary´s Catholic Church with the Rev. Roland Buxkemper, pastor of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Lubbock, officiating.

Mass will be at 4 p.m. Sunday in St. Mary´s Catholic Church with the Rev. Buxkemper officiating.

Burial will be in Spur Memorial Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Garcia died at 2:15 p.m. Friday in Crosbyton Clinic Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Mexico and had lived in Dickens and Kent counties most of his life. He married Loretta Panda on Oct. 15, 1925, in Claremont. He was a farmer and rancher and a Catholic.

Survivors include his wife; six sons, Pete, Jack and Willie, all of Ralls, Margarito Joe and Joe John, both of Spur, and Lawrence of Crosbyton; three daughters, Anita Guerrero, Julia Puente and Frances Navarro, all of Lubbock; a brother, Augustine Garcia of Spur; three sisters, Paula Gonzales of Marble Falls, Jannie Martinez of Idalou and Tules Garcia of Spur; 43 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

The family suggests memorials to St. Mary´s Catholic Church.

The body will be at St. Mary´s Catholic Church from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. today, and from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

SPUR (Special) Mass for Loretta P. Garcia, 94, of Spur will be celebrated at noon Wednesday at St. Mary´s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Vio and Glenn Rosendale officiating.

Burial will be in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

She died Monday, March 27, 2000, at Crosbyton Hospital.

She was born Feb. 10, 1906, in Mexico. She lived most of her life in Dickens County. She married Luis Garcia on Oct. 15, 1925, in Clairemont. He died April 22, 1988. Loretta was a member of St. Mary´s Catholic Church where she was a member of the Guadalupana Society and a Crusillista.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Andres in 1966, and Lawrence in 1997.

Survivors include five sons, Pete, M. Joe., and Joe John, all of Spur, and Jack and Willie, both of Ralls; three daughters, Anita Guerrero of Amarillo, Julie Puente of Lubbock and Francis Navarro of Woodrow; 44 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
