Mass for Lawrence Garcia, Sr., 56, of Crosbyton, was at 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 21, 1997 at St. Mary´s Catholic church in Spur. Father William Brennan officiated. Burial was in the Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home. Rosary was held on Sunday, June 20, at St. Mary´s Catholic Church.

Mr. Garcia died Saturday, June 19, at University Medical Center in Lubbock.

He was born August 10, 1940 in Spur. He had lived in Crosbyton the past 26 years. He was a farmer. He was a member of the San Jose Catholic Church in Crosbyton. he was a member of the Cursillista and the Sacred Heart Society and had also been an altar boy.

Survivors include his wife, Maria Garcia, Crosbyton; his mother, Loretta Garcia, Spur; five sons, David Garcia, Lubbock; Robert Garcia, Lorenzo; Lawrence Garcia, Jr., Lubbock; Jerry Garcia, Crosbyton, Adrian Garcia, Crosbyton; one daughter, Lorie G. Vega, Stamford; five brothers, , Pete Garcia, Spur; Margarito Garcia, Spur; Joe John Garcia, Spur; Jack Garcia, Ralls; Wille Garcia, Ralls; and three sisters, Anita Guerrero, Amarillo; Julia Puente, Lubbock; and Frances Navarro, Woodrow.
