U.S.Flag   POST (Special) — Services for Sam James Gannon, 57, of Post will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Spur First Baptist Church with Norris Taylor, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Spur Cemetery under direction of Hudman Funeral Home of Post.

The body will lie in state in Hudman Funeral Home until 9 a.m. Friday. The body will then lie in state in Campbell Funeral Home of Spur until 1 p.m. Friday.

Gannon died Wednesday morning in West Texas Hospital in Lubbock following a lengthy illness.

The Spur native married the former Adell Bass April 2, 1949, in Spur. The couple moved to Post 21 years ago. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of VFW.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dwayne of George West and Eddie of Post; two daughters, Patricia Gass of Gayle and Vickie Gannon of Lubbock; three brothers, Bill of Ruleton, Kan., Pete of Spur and A.A. of Odessa; seven sisters, Mrs. Bill Wyatt, Mrs. Preston Baker, Mrs. Roger Bingham and Mrs. Winnie Ellis, all of Spur. Mrs. William Finch of Bakersfield, CA, Mrs. Virginia Stumbo of Carlsbad, NM, and Mrs. Ray Fletcher of Brownwood; and two grandchildren.
