Don Gannon

Larry �Don� Gannon 76, passed away on September 25, 2011 in Tarrant County. He was born on November 23, 1934 to Pete and Alvarine Spraberry Gannon in Spur, Texas. Don married Reva Thompson on July 2, 1954 in Spur, Texas.

Don was a leader in the 4-H Horse Club in Dickens County. He was also in the Dickens County Sheriff�s Posse as well as servicing on the Spur Cowboy Polo Team. Don worked in Agriculture, but retired after fourteen plus years for the TDCJ.

Don is survived by his wife Reva Gannon of Decatur, Texas as well as two daughters Donna Tippen and husband Lee Jack of Paradise, Texas and Renae Gannon of Denton, Texas. He had one sister Erma Jay of Lubbock, Texas and one brother Bob Gannon of Spur, Texas. He was blessed also with three grandchildren Cory Tippen; Brady Tippen and Natalie Tippen as well as five great grandchildren Zane Parker; Jacy Tippen; Keaton Tippen; Breckyn Tippen and Kashten Tippen.

Don was preceded in death by his parents Pete and Alvarine Gannon and a son Michael Douglas in 1963.

Visitation will be Tuesday September 27, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home in Spur, Texas. Services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. September 28, 2011 at the First Baptist Church in Spur, Texas with Author Green officiating under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home in Spur, Texas. Interment will follow in Spur Memorial Cemetery.
