Obituary

Services for Pete Gannon, 72, of Spur, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Eddie Allsup, minister, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Bob Wright, minister of Assembly of God Church here.

Burial will follow in Spur Memorial Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.

He died at 11:35 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary´s in Lubbock after and lengthy illness.

He was born January 22, 1912 in Olney. He married Alvarine Sprayberry on December 18, 1932 in Portales, NM. he lived in Dickens County most of his life and was a farmer. he was a member of the Dickens County Sheriff´s Posse. He was a Methodist.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Don of Girard and Bob of Spur; two daughters, Erma Jay of Columbia, South America, and Shirley Powell of Spur; two brothers, Buck of Odessa and Bill of Goodland, Kansas; seven sisters, Lucille Wyatt, Winnie Ellis, Mae Bingham and Ora Baker, all of Spur, Dora Finch of Porterville, CA, Virginia Stumbo of Carlsbad, NM and Thelma Fletcher of Bangs; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services for Alvarine Gannon, 81, of Spur were Tuesday, January 5, 1999 at the Assembly of God Church. Rev. Roy Mears of Lubbock and Rev. Arthur Green of Gainesville officiated. Burial was in the Spur Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gannon died Sunday, January 3, 1999 in Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.

Mrs. Gannon was born August 8, 1917 in Rochester,. She had been a resident of Spur since 1919. She married Pete Gannon on December 18, 1932 in Portales, NM. She was a medical clerk for Community Action in Levelland for 15 years. She attended Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete, in 1984, and one grandson, Mike Gannon.

She is survived by two daughters, Erma Jay, Lubbock; and Shirley Powell, Spur; two sons, Don and Bob Gannon, both of Spur; one sister, Aldaphyne McWilliams, Lubbock; ten grandchildren.

Pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons.
