Services for J.W. Flud, 69, of Spur, were at 2 p.m. July 1, 1995 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Dana Flud, a nephew and pastor of the First Foursquare Church in Brownfield, officiated.Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under direction of Campbell Funeral Home Spur.
Mr. Flud died June 29 in St. Mary Hospital, Lubbock, about 4:50 p.m. He was born February 24, 1926 in Welch, Texas and had been a resident of Spur 16 years. He was an antique dealer and formerly worked in construction.
He was a veteran of World War II and served in Iwo Jima and Okinawa in the Pacific Theater. He served in the Navy and was a Seaman First Class. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Flud, Spur; two sons, Mike Flud of Spur and James Flud of Dallas; a daughter, Patty of Spur and a step-daughter, Lesa, of Midland; one brother, L.B. Flud of Abernathy and a sister, Velva McNeil of Garland; 12 grandchildren. One brother, Jay Warren, preceded him in death in 1953.
Pallbearers were Leon Warner, Joshua Flud, Robert Pierce, Jim Boles, James Lasater, Benny Ball, Lee Cool and Mike Williams.
