  Funeral services for Walter Erath, 60, were held July 22 at 4 p.m. in the Highway 70 church of Christ with Bob Brandon officiating.

Mr. Erath died at his home in Spur Tuesday, July 20. Justice of the Peace John Nay ruled death due to natural causes. He was a farmer and had lived all of his life in Dickens County. He was a member of the Church of Christ and was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Jessie Erath, Spur; a brother, George E. Erath, Spur and a sister, Lillia Lee Bailey, Spur.

Pallbearers included Carl Grantham, Dwight Dillashaw, Jim Wyatt, Alvis Bilberry, Elmer Bilberry and Earl Thomason.

Burial was in Spur Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
