Services For Richard Ensey Held Sunday

Funeral services were held here Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the First Methodist Church for Richard Ensey, 42. He was found at his home, the victim of a gunshot wound in his head. Justice of the Peace, H P. Berry returned an inquest verdict of death due to self inflicted gunshot wound.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, Wayne Ensey, in the Air Force stationed at Oxnard, California, Allan Ray and Stephen both of Spur, and one daughter, Janie K. Ensey, Spur; two brothers, Jerry Ensey, Spur and Melvin Ensey, Beaumont, four sisters, Mrs. J. C. Payne, Spur; Mrs. Mark Nelms, Caddo; Mrs. Allen Ledbetter, Odessa; Mrs. Woodrow Swaringen, Brownfield, his father, J.J. Ensey, also survives.

Rev. William McReynolds officiated at the funeral services. He was assisted by Rev. Riley Fugitt, pastor of the First Baptist Church.

Pallbearers included Seamon Reynolds, Flavious Alexander, Randy Clifton, Leon Reagan, Marion Hurst and Arner Watson.

Born in Mineral Wells in 1918, Ensey died November 4, 1960. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He had lived in Spur since 1925. Interment was in Spur Cemetery.
