Mrs. Marie English, of Dickens, died November 14, 1924, and was buried in Spur Cemetery. She was born in Springfield, MO in 1857, was married to James English in 1911. She had no children of her own but raised seven children.Her young days were devoted to waiting on the sick and giving freely of her service to others. She embraced religion and united with the Baptist Church. Rev. J.V. Bilberry, pastor officiated.
