U.S.Flag   SPUR (Special) Graveside services for Jackson East, 90, of Fort Worth, and formerly of Spur and Jayton, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Spur Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Burton officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.

He died Friday, Dec. 24, 1999, in Fort Worth.

He was born Aug. 9, 1909, in Birmingham, Ala. He lived most of his life in the Spur and Jayton areas. He married Lena Snodgrass on Dec. 17, 1932, in Dickens. She died Nov. 22, 1995.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a member of the local VFW. He was a salesman for Rickels Motor Company in Spur and Hall's Chevrolet in Jayton for 18 years. He was a member of the Methodist Church where he was song director and a member of the men's Round-Up class.

Survivors include his son, Jack of Brownwood; a half-brother, Woody Grice of Dumas; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
