Funeral services were held Sept. 3 for Mrs. Rosa Lee Earnest, 78, in the First united Methodist Church. Rev. Howard Marcom, pastor, officiated, assisted by Victor Crabtree, Dickens.Mrs. Earnest died Sept.21 in the Crosbyton Hospital. She had been a resident of Dickens County since 1920 and was a life-long member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Seals Earnest, Spur; four daughters, Mrs. Robbie Lou Hoover, Spur; Mrs. Leona Cunningham, Hamilton; Mrs. Emma Kimmel, Huntsville; two sons, Forrest Earnest, Lubbock and Linsey Earnest, Hadlock, WA; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Harcrow, Ennis and 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Elbert Garner, Louis Arnold, Pat Winkler, Wilburn Ball, Dewey Dement, Wilburn Beadle.
Interment was in Spur Cemetery.

SPUR (Special) Services for Seals Ernest, 93, of Spur will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the First United Methodist Church here with the Rev. Archie Echols, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Victor Crabtree, a retired Baptist minister.Burial will be in Spur Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.
Ernest died at 5:45 p.m. Saturday in Crosbyton Hospital following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Mason County Oct. 1, 1883, and was married to Rosa Lee Harcrow Aug. 13, 1913, in Haskell County. He moved to Dickens County in 1919. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Methodist Church. His wife died September of 1970.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Robbie Lou Hoover of Spur; Mrs.Leona Cunningham of Hamilton; Mrs. Emma Kimmel of Justine and Mrs. Laura Bell Huff of Portangeles, Wash.; two sons, Forrest of Lubbock and Linsey of Portangeles, Wash.; 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
