Obituary

Earnest Dunaway Is Claimed by Death

Funeral services for Earnest Lee Dunaway, 42, were conducted Monday, Jan. 4, 1954, at 4 p.m. in the First Baptist Church. Rev. Billie Smith and Rev. Tommie Allen officiated.

Dunaway was born June 16, 1911 in Erath County, Texas. He died Jan. 2, 1954 at the Veterans Hospital in Amarillo. He was converted early in life and joined the Baptist church. He was married to Naoma Tullis in 1945 at Guthrie and they had lived in Dickens County for nine years.

Surviving him are his wife, one daughter, Earnestine; three stepsons: J.M. of Lubbock, Eldon Ray and Frank F., at home one step daughter, Mary Frances, at home; parents, Mr. and Mrs. M.C. Dunaway of Spur; and one brother, John, of Spur.

Pallbearers were Ray Bostic, David McAteer, Joe Long, Jesse Morrison, Johnnie Hamilton and George Erath.

Interment was in the Spur Cemetery under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home.
