Mrs. Nannie Pearl Drury, forty-nine years of age, wife of H.A. Drury, died Tuesday afternoon at four o´clock at their home in Spur, following a protracted illness. Mrs. Drury sometime ago contracted influenza from which tuberculosis developed, causing death. Her remains were interred Wednesday in Spur Cemetery.The Texas Spur extends condolence to the bereaved family.

Funeral services were held for Henry A. Drury, 80, on Thursday, January 30, 1957 at Campbell´s Funeral Chapel in Spur. Rev. Cal C. Wright, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiated.Drury, who came to Dickens County in 1921, was a native Texan, being born in Hopkins County on October 3, 1877. He married Pearl Childress in 1900 at Stephenville, Texas. In 1906 he was converted to the Christian religion and joined the Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lucille McReynolds of Stanton, Texas, and Mrs. Grace Owens of Hobbs, NM and one brother, Claude Drury of Bowie, Texas.
Interment was in the Spur Cemetery with Campbell´s Funeral Chapel in charge.
