Graveside services for Mamie M. Dillashaw were Sunday, December 28, 1997 at the Spur Memorial Cemetery. Neil Dillashaw officiated. Burial was under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home, Spur.

Mrs. Dillashaw died Friday, December 26, at the Stonewall Memorial Hospital in Aspermont.

Mrs. Dillashaw was born February 24, 1917 in Rayville, Louisiana. She married Charlie Dillashaw September 28, 1956 in Dequincy, Louisiana. She lived most of her life in Orange, Texas moving to Spur about two years ago from West Monroe, Louisiana. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Charlie Dillashaw, Spur; two stepsons, Dwight Dillashaw, Girard; Neil Dillashaw, San Antonio; one step-daughter, Sue Parker, Aspermont; two brothers, Jack Moore, Sterlinton, Louisiana; Buddy Moore, West Monroe, Louisiana; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; one great grandchild.

Funeral services for Charles Edward Dillashaw, 94, of Spur, were Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at 2PM, at the Spur Memorial Cemetery Chapel under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home. He died Sunday, March 9, 2008 after a brief illness.

Charlie was born November 30, 1913 in Dawson, TX to Thomas T. and Mattie Lou (Barnes) Dillashaw. He moved with his family to Dickens County in 1919. He attended several country schools throughout Dickens and Kent counties. He married Aila Owens July 23, 1938 in Crosbyton. During the War effort of World War II, they moved to Portland, OR and shortly thereafter to Orange, TX, where he worked in the shipyards as a painter for many years. After the last shipyard closed, he continued as a painter in Riverside, a housing development built during the war to house the thousands of shipyard employees.

He married Mamie Moore on September 28, 1956, in DeQuincy, LA. He assisted her in the upholstery business. After retiring, they moved to West Monroe, LA in the 1980's and then to Spur in 1995. Mamie preceded him in death in 1997. He was a member of the Steele Hill Church of Christ.

He was the last sibling in a family of thirteen children. Three sisters, Sadie Powell, Mabel Reynolds, and Martha Lou Bailey were long time residents of Spur. He is survived by two sons, Dwight of Spur, and Neil of San Antonio; one daughters, Sue Parker of Aspermont; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Jeff Parker, Joey Parker, Ikey Dillashaw, Ray Faubus, Jody Young and Charles Sonnamaker. Honorary Pallbearer was R.D. Wright.
