Obituary

Funeral services were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Briggs-Gamel Funeral Chapel, Lampasas, for Edwin E. Denson, 62. Mr. Denson died Monday, January 10, in a Veteran´s Administration Hospital in Temple. He had been ill since December 2, 1982.

Graveside services will be held in Spur at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

A carpenter, Mr. Denson was a former resident of Spur. He moved to Lampasas in 1965. He was a veteran of World War II and was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Denson, Lampasas; six daughters, Linda Braughton, Houston; Carol Greenberg, Round Rock; Barbara Moon, Yuma, AZ; Sonja Denson, Giddings; Lisa Jackson and Janet Schwabe, both of Austin; a brother, Peyton Denson, Houston and five grandchildren.

Rose Mears Denson, 69, Lampasas, died Saturday night, September 2, 1995, from injuries suffered in a car accident near Briggs, Texas.

Services were held September 6, 1995 at 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Lampasas with Steve Holcombe officiating.

Burial will follow at 3 p.m. Thursday in Spur Memorial Cemetery. Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Directors were in charge of arrangements.

She was born May 3, 1926 in Tow, Texas. Her parents were Leslie R. and Eula Shaw Hereford. She married Edwin Eugene Denson, January 9, 1944. She had been a resident of Lampasas for the past 29 years.

Survivors include six daughters and their husbands: Linda Braughton and Charles of Pasadena, TX; Carol Greenburg and Gene of Round Rock; Barbara Stakes and Perry of Rockville, IN; Janet Hargett and Michael of Pflugerville; Lisa Jackson and J. J. of Bastrop; Sonja Morris and Randy of Lampasas; one brother, Leslie R. Hereford of Austin and one sister, Annette Bridges and husband Hereford of Mart; a brother-in-law, Payton Denson of Houston; 11 grandchildren.

Mrs. Denson was preceded in death by her husband Edwin and a sister Faye Staggs.

The family requests memorials to "Family Focus", Christian based Family Support of Colorado or to the Austin Crisis Pregnancy Center.
