"Grandpa" Denson Died at Highway Home Sunday, 31

Ed Denson, 83, died at his home in the Highway community, Sunday afternoon, January 31, death being attributed to the infirmities of old age. Grandpa Denson, as he was familiarly known, had been a citizen of this county for many years and had made his home with his sons Luther and Hugh of the Highway community and the late C. W. Denson, former city marshall here. He was well known and highly respected over the entire section and leaves a host of friends and relatives to mourn his passing.

Mr. Denson was born in Arkansas Nov. 3, 1849 but moved to Williamson County, Texas with his parents at the age of six years, and made his home there until moving to West Texas.

Funeral services were held at highway Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. J. V. Bilberry. Pallbearers were Messers Pope, R. L. English, Walter Thomason, J. E. Sparks, Austin Frazier and Webber Williams in charge.
