Services for Leo Franklin Day, Sr., 80 of Spur were at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2000 at the First Baptist Church in Spur with the Rev. Richard Harbison officiating. Burial was in the Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.

Day died November 9, 2000 at Crescent Care Center of Spur. He was born June 17, 1920 in Avery Co., Texas. He married Frances Attaway October 17, 1944 in Union near Brownfield. He was a World War II Veteran in the U.S. Navy. He lived in Spur since 1959 coming from Aspermont. He was a partner in Day & Day Building Supply for many years. He was a Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Spur. He was a former member of the Spur Lions Club, Past President of the South Dickens County Senior Citizens, former member of the Spur Independent School District Board of Directors, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #7212.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Day, of Spur; three sons, Ronald Day of McKinney, Donald Day of Plano, and Leo Day, Jr. of Spur; two daughters, Mary Ashley of Odessa, and Peggy Swaringen of Spur; two brothers, Clarence Wilburn "Mutt" Day of Odessa and Horace Day of Andrews; three sisters, Bertha Marsh of Brownfield, Ruby Groves of Brownfield, and Wanda Linderman of Portales, N.M.; 21 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Frances DayFrances Willard Day, 87 passed away June 27, 2011 in Plainview, Texas. Frances was born on April 20, 1924 to George and Carrie Hicks Attaway in Afton, Texas. She was raised in East Texas around Sulphur Springs and married Leo Franklin Day on October 17, 1944.

She was a homemaker that invested her life in her children, grandchildren and all the children at her church by working with G.A.�s, Acteens and WMU for many, many years. She was a loving wife for 56 years, a great Christian example for her children & grandchildren, a devoted sister to nine siblings, a special Aunt that loved hugs, a wonderful daughter and a great friend to many.

Frances Day is survived by two daughters Mary and her husband Lawrence Ashley of Odessa, Tx and Peggy and her husband Tommy Swaringen of Dickens, Tx; three sons Ronald and his wife Molly Day of Redding, Ca.; Donald and his wife Mardi Day of Allen, Tx,; and Leo Jr. and wife Joan Day of Spur, Tx. Frances is also survived by three brothers Carey Attaway; Carroll Attaway; and Warren Attaway; twenty grandchildren; thirty-eight great grandkids and three great great grandkids.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband Leo Franklin Day Sr. and her parents George and Carrie Attaway. She was also preceded by one grandson Curtis Day; five brothers Franklin; Green; Gambrell; Jodie; and Robert Attaway and three sisters RachelPowell; Pearl Jennings; and Christene Kimbrough.

Services will be at the First Baptist Church at 3:00p.m. on June 30, 2011 with Rory Mosley officiating under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur, Tx. Interment will follow at the Spur Memorial Cemetery.
