Services for Geraldine Thompson Davis, 74, of Spur were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2001 at the Lakeside Baptist Church with Floyd Nicholson Sr., Wilson Perry and the Dr. Ned Hicks officiating. Burial was in the Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.She died Monday, August 13, 2001 at her residence in Spur. She was born April 23, 1927, in Spur, where she had lived most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of the Herons of Jericho.
She was preceded in death by a son, Marquis Perry Davis Jr., in 1963, a daughter, Inez Hicks, in 1998, a brother, George Thompson, in 1943, and a sister Archie Lee Thompson, in 1935.
Survivors include six sons, Jimmy Nelms of Kansas, Jachie Thompson and Larry Morrison, both of Texas, Burgie Davis of Arkansas and James Davis and Floyd Nicholson Jr., both of Arizona; five daughters, Cynthia Lateef of Lubbock, Jo Ann Bethany of Killeen, Archie Coleman and Florence Nicholson, both of Phoenix, Ariz., and Larue Spraggs of Gilbert, Ariz.; 40 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
