Eloise (Sharp) Crockett, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, went to be with our Savior on the day we celebrate his birth, Christmas Day 2013, at the age of 89. What a fitting day for such a wonderful Christian to be called home.

Eloise was born September 7, 1924, in Alvord, Texas, to John Pinckney and Ora Mae (Denney) Sharp. She was married to Robert (Bob) Weldon Crockett in 1945. Eloise was an active member of the Spur chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star for many years. She worked most of her life as a bookkeeper for several companies, including Rickels Motors in Spur and, most recently, Robert Hall Chevrolet in Jayton. She graduated from Dickens High School and lived in the Spur area most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Crockett, and brother, Dr. Billy Byers Sharp. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Joe Bob Crockett of Espuela and his fiance Chrystal Madewell of Levelland, grandson Charles Crockett of Spur, sister-in-law Sibyl K. Sharp of Springfield, Missouri, and her beloved nieces and nephew, Chryssa D. Sharp of St. Peters, Missouri, Kendra V. Sharp of Corvallis, Oregon, and Darrin J. Sharp of Fort Collins, Colorado, and many other family members and friends.

Friends and family celebrated her life on Monday, December 30, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Spur, Texas. Burial followed at the Spur Memorial Cemetery.
