Obituary

J.R. Cozby, 52, passed away in the Nichols Sanitarium Wednesday morning, October 16, death caused by heart and stomach ailments. Mr. Cozby has lived near Spur for the past twenty years, having made a great many friends who are deeply sorrowed by his demise, and who extend sympathy and condolence to the bereaved family.

John Rozzle Cozby was born in Dublin, Texas, April 15, 1888 and spent his boyhood there. He was married to Margie Nickell, October 12, 1911, in Floyd County, and in 1920 the family moved to Dickens County.

Mr. Cozby united with the Methodist Church at the age of 12.

Funeral services were read by Rev. J.E. Harrell at the Methodist Church at 3 p.m. Wednesday, and interment followed in the Spur Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home directing.

Pallbearers were: Floyd Hines, Glenn Latham, Tobe Westfall, Floy Watson, Joe Hutto and Earnest Lee.

Flowerbearers were: Mrs. Millard Smith, Mrs. Floyd Hines, Mrs. Tobe Westfall, Mrs. E.A. Bailey, Mrs. Glenn Latham and Mrs. Elmer Frazier.

Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Margie Cozby; two daughters, Mrs. Clyde Latham, and Miss Alba Cozby; one son, Rozzle Cozby; two brothers, J.T. Cozby of Silver City, NM, and L.B. Cozby of Floydada; two sisters, Mrs. W.D. Blair of Spur, and Mrs. Lucia Havis, of Lubbock. Out of town relatives here for the funeral were Mr. ad MRs. Joe T. Cozby, Silver City, NM; Mr. and Mrs.L.B. Cozby, Floydada; Mrs. Wayland Lee, Dickens; Mr. and Mrs. L.A. Havis and son Melvin and wife of Lubbock; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Green, and Mrs. Jim Richards, of Lubbock.

Funeral services for Mrs. J.R. (Margie) Cozby will be held in Stanton and in Spur today. She died at Stanton, Tuesday morning. She is a former resident of Red Hill and Dickens.

The funeral service here will be at 4 p.m. in Campbell´s Funeral Chapel.
