Obituary
Funeral services for Lonnie Francis Copeland, 56, a retired farm laborer, were held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the First Baptist Church, Spur, with Rev. Norris Taylor, pastor, officiating.Mr. Copeland died August 31. He had resided in Dickens County from 1950 to 1963 and returned here form California in 1971. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Pearl, of Spur; four sons, Billy Francis Copeland, Peco Lakes, Minn.; Darrell Dewayne Copeland, Hillsboro and Lonnie Ray and Danny Joe Copeland, both of Spur; two daughters, Linda Abbott, Ft. Stockton; Pat Hall, Westmoreland, CA;
Four stepsons, Charley Scoggins, Jack Scoggins, Dallas; W.L. Scoggins, Tampa, Fla. and Richad Scoggins, Carrollton; five brothers, Sylvester Copeland, Brawley, CA; Denzle Copeland, Farmers Branch; A.J. Copeland, Irving; Charles Copeland, Lubbock and R.L. Copeland, Roaring Springs. Two sisters, Mrs. Mary Butvher, and Mrs. Alice Hartes, both of Aquilla; 22 grandchildren.
Burial was in Spur Cemetery.
