Tom Condron

  Services for Tom Condron, 79, of Spur were held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2002 at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Burton officiating. Burial was in Spur Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home of Spur.

He died Tuesday, April 23, 2002 in Lubbock.

Mr. Condron was born March 18, 1923, in Dickens County to Hade and Audie Byrd Condron. He graduated from Spur High School in 1940. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Sue Powell Hodges on Sept. 1, 1948. He lived in New Mexico for about 30 years and was co-owner and manager of a propane business before moving back to Spur in 1990.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Spur, where he served on many committees and boards.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bill of Albuquerque, N.M., and Rick of San Angelo; a daughter, Pat Nowlin of New Mexico; one brother, Don Condron of Spur; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 415, Spur, TX 79370 or to Joe Arrington Cancer Center, P.O. Box 94032, Lubbock, TX 79410.
