Mrs. Timpie Jane Collier died at her home about two miles east of Spur Friday morning, February 9 at 4 o'clock following a three weeks illness of influenza and pneumonia. She had been a resident of this section since 1934 when the family moved here from Haskell County.Timpie McMinn Collier was born at Gunterville, Arkansas, November 11, 1892, and was married to T.W. Collier August 14, 1904. She joined the Methodist Church at the age of 5 years and had maintained continuous membership in this faith.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon in the First Methodist Church, with the pastor, Rev. J.E. Harrell, officiating.
Surviving are her husband, five children and seven grandchildren. The children are Harvey Collier, Raymond Collier and Mrs. Ruby Wallsworth of Spur; Dick Collier of San Antonio, and Mrs. Opal Guffey of O'Brein, Texas.
Pallbearers: R.B. Wallsworth, Leo Guffey, Claude Collier, Dick Collier, Pete Collier, Paul Loe.Interment was in the Spur Cemetery under the direction of Wards Funeral Home.
