Obituary

Funeral services were held Oct. 18 for Mrs. Leona Kathryn Cole, 50, of Roswell, New Mexico.

Rev. Charles Gates, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiated. Mrs. Cole was a former resident of Spur. She had resided in Roswell for the past five years.

Survivors include her husband, J.R. Cole, Roswell; one son, Rand Cole, Garland; two daughters, Jeana Kay Cole, Lazbuddie and Jan Cole, Roswell; one brother, Odwin Cole, Santa Cruz, CA; one sister, Wilma Leavitt, San Jose, CA; one granddaughter.

Burial was in Spur Cemetery.

Funeral services for a former Spur resident, John R. Cole, were held here Saturday at 2 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church. Rev. Nelson Punnage, Roswell, NM officiating.

Mr. Cole, 62, died in Roswell. He graduated from high school in Spur and made his home here for a number of years. He was a truck driver and a member of the Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gene Cole, Roswell; a son, Randy, Garland; two daughters, Jeana Kay Cole, Lazbuddie and Jan Cole, Roswell; a brother, Garland Cole and a sister; a granddaughter, Rhonda Cole, Garland.

Pallbearers included Donald Dopson, Alvis Bilberrry, Billy Dan Bingham, Archie Beasley, Bill Meador and Jim Kennon.

Burial was in the Spur Cemetery.
