Funeral services for Harlee Childers, 53, of Matador will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Matador with Larry Burton officiating. Interment will follow in the Spur Cemetery in Spur. Mr. Childers passed away Thursday, December 4, 2008 in Hardeman Co.

Harlee was raised and grew up in Dickens County where he attended school. Mr. Childers moved to Matador from Spur 10 years ago. Harlee had worked in the Oil Field, farmed, and had numerous other occupations. He currently was working for the Flatline Company. Harlee was married to Jimmie Brown in 1999 in Matador. He was a very loving husband, father, and friend. Harlee was a good and kind hearted person. He never met a person who didn't like him and left his memories everywhere he went. He will surely be missed.

He is survived by his wife, Jimmie of Matador; two sons, Cory Andre Childers and Harlee Childers, Jr., both of Lubbock; two daughters, Tamara LaShae Childers of Lubbock and Lanika LaMore Green of Midland; five brothers, Jessie Lee Childers of Crosbyton; Joe Lee, Jr. of Spur; L.C. Childers of Spur; Louis Childers of Crosbyton; Bobby Joe Childers of Crosbyton; five sisters, Betty Joe Harris of Clovis, N.M.; Annie Fay Walker of Spur; Lula Fay Childers of Lubbock; Linda Mae Perry of Dallas; Brenda Mae Barnes of Lubbock; three stepchildren, Bridget Henderson of Plainview, Jermaine Hendrix of Matador, and Herbert Sims of Pueblo, Colo.; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
