Funeral rites for William L. Cherry, age 83, who died suddenly last Thursday morning, were conducted in the Presbyterian Church in Spur, Friday, November 26, with Rev. Lee Vaughn, officiating, assisted by Bro. R.D. Hill and Bro. Vernon Hagar.

Burial was in the Spur Cemetery under the direction of Bryan McDonald and Son Funeral Home, Matador.

Pallbearers were T.C. Willis, Dee Hairgroves, Ebb Smith, O.P. Meador, M. Yandell and Tom Rape.

Mr. Cherry had been a resident of Kent County for the past 37 years. He was born in Moulton, Texas. He later moved to the Antelope community in Kent County in 1911, where he had resided since.

He is survived by three sisters, Miss Eula Cherry of Spur; Mrs. Joe Sockwell and Mrs. Hicks Sockwell, both of Moulton.
