Thomas G. Cherry, Co. Pioneer, Buried Here Monday
Funeral Services were held Sept. 18 for Thos. Goldsmith Cherry, born Oct. 15, 1878.Rev. Howard H. Hollowell had charge of the service.
Pallbearers were John Bachman, Paul Loe, John Blakely, Walter Foreman, F.W. Jennings and Sam Heron.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Rufa Cherry, Spur: children: Carol Cherry, Washington, Mrs. H. Kissinger, Odessa; Mrs. T.M. Baker, Wichita Falls; Brothers and sisters: Will cherry and Eula Cherry, Steel Hill community; Mrs. Ruby Shockwel Spofford, TX and Mrs. Fannie Mae Stockwell, Gonzales, TX.
Interment was in Spur Cemetery, Campbell's in charge of arrangements.

Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday for Mrs. Rufa Bell Cherry, 89, in the First Methodist Church, Spur, Rev. Howard Marcom officiating.Mrs. Cherry died April 21. She came to Dickens County in 1910 but had resided the past five years in Odessa and El Paso. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Lee Baker, El Paso, and Mrs. Lurlene Kissinger, Odessa; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Jack simmons, Dee McArthur, Everett McArthur, Guy Karr, Clarence Foreman and Horace Hyatt.
Interment was in the Spur Cemetery.
